A TRIBUTE TO LATE PASTOR SOLOMON OLAJIDE ODESANYA

The news of the sudden home call of our beloved fellow soldier in the Lord’s army, Pastor Solomon Olajide Odesanya, is indeed shocking. Pastor “Jide,” as we fondly called him, remained a faithful, loving, confident, and ever-cheerful brother and friend. He was a dear companion whom many of us came to cherish deeply since we met at the RCCG Headquarters Church, Ebute Meta, in the early 1980s.

His doggedness and rugged consistency were duly demonstrated in the establishment and sustenance of the Halleluyah Prayer Complex, which started as a room where round-the-clock praise and prayers were held in the Redemption Camp, now Redemption City. Never discouraged or intimidated, his commitment was always evident. Consider, for instance, his approach to the Pre-Holy Ghost Service Thursday Praise Night. His footprints of commitment and consistency are everywhere. We knew him very well in our Eagle’s Wing Pastors’ Forum of pastors ordained in 1995. A very steadfast pastor indeed. His son Olumide is also a highly placed ordained Pastor in RCCG with a highly impactful ministry in Abuja. No doubt, this was one mark of blessing ithat Pastor Jide remained so grateful to God for, before his departure to glory on 19 April 27

His baritone voice could never be ignored, especially for the anointing it carried. Perhaps this was why it became easy to give him the nickname “Ose Baba,” which has remained with him till today. His countenance carried no trace of sorrow, bitterness, or grumbling; rather, he radiated sunshine.

In him, we also found a refreshing sense of holy humour. There was never a dull moment in the company of Pastor Jide Odesanya.

Although It is certain that losing him at this time must bring pain, grief, and a deep sense of loss to his beloved wife and the entire family, to whom he was know to be very close . The reality is that this highly cherished, amiable and dedicated man of God has gone to be with the Lord .

Despite the pain of losing him, the narrative of the glorious and seamless departure of this great man of God has turned out to be as remarkable and encouraging as his ministry and life on this side of eternity.

Indeed, for his impactful life of service, prayer, ministry, and love for all, Pastor Jide Odesanya will also be greatly missed by the Church of God and by many others outside the church whose lives he touched and blessed.

Together, we share in the pain and grief occasioned by the passing of this energetic prayer champion of our time. Yet, we cannot mourn as unbelievers. Much as the Body of Christ will surely miss this exceptional minister of God, we cannot grieve as those without hope (1 Thess. 4:13–18).Indeed, since it has pleased the Lord to call him home at this time, we can only submit to His will while trusting the Holy Spirit to minister due comfort to his family, and the rest of us who will surely miss the sweet companionship of our beloved Pastor Jide Odesanya.

Meanwhile, I wish to express sincere condolences to all members of the late pastor’s nuclear and extended families. As our brother, your father, sibling, and friend rests in the bosom of the Lord till the resurrection morning, we join the family in saying:
“Good night, beloved champion, Pastor Solomon Olajide Odesanya.”May the grace of God continue to prove sufficient for you, all members of the Odesanya family, as well as all of us, his friends and admirers, in Jesus’ name.

May the Lord continue to comfort and uphold you and all those he left behind, in Jesus’ name. Shalom

Good night, prayer warrior; prayer champion; man of God par excellence!Good night, Pastor Solomon Olajide Odesanya. Good night!

Grandpa !!! That’s the way I usually call out to you whenever we get to see. I keep hearing that in my voice from time to time now. I also pictured the way you’d respond back with a warm smile and say ‘Yeye Folu’ and then come rob my head and utter words of prayer. That’s what I’ll miss the most about you grandpa, those heartfelt prayers. Whenever you prayed for hubby, the children and I, I always felt those prayers down to my bone marrow.

Grandpa, you were a man of peace, kind, easy going, loving and a giver. Even when I come visit without the children, you’ll envelope something and send to them, with a stern warning to me that the money isn’t mine ooo😁.

Oh grandpa , the news of your demise was indeed a rude shock and I’m honestly going to miss, miss and miss you. My joy is really that you made it home ooo. I’m so glad you ran the race and finished well. Please keep smiling down on us here and don’t stop interceding for us.

Your first daughter in love

In everything, we give thanks. I have been a part of prayer rain since 2020 when the platform was created.
Although, I didn’t get the chance to meet you one on one, but I am glad I met your daughter ( even when I didn’t know she is your daughter, something drew us close).

I noticed on the prayer rain platform that you stand in the gap for others, lifting burdens, choosing to intercede for others. Your prayers have strengthened so many people’s faith. Always ending your prayers with God helping us to make Heaven, praying earnestly that when the trumpet shall sound, we do not miss the Kingdom of God.
You are truly a vessel of grace, Heavenly minded and a faithful intercessor.

Our Daddy, rest on in the bossom of the Almighty God who loves you more than we do.

Daddy lived a life worthy of emulation. His quiet devotion to God was a solid inspiration to me as a young girl in faith. It is said that if you truly want to know about a man, enquire from members of His household. His family is such a loud testimony of his commitment to God.

In death, life is birthed truly. We honour you Daddy and I am especially grateful to God for the legacy you have built.

TRIBUTE TO PASTOR OLAJIDE SOLOMON ODESANYA
(a.k.a. E Gbohun Soke, Ose Baba)
IN THE SANDS OF TIME
To attempt a true account of the life and impact of Pastor Olajide Solomon Odesanya is to step into a story too rich to be fully captured in words. His journey in the service of God and humanity was marked by depth, sacrifice, and uncommon grace.

Across nations and generations, countless lives bear witness to his influence. The outpouring of tributes and heartfelt condolences from people of all walks of life reflects the extraordinary measure of his service and the lasting imprint he left on hearts.

The volume of prayers, memories, and testimonies shared in his honour is not surprising—it is the natural response to a life poured out selflessly for others. Indeed, his life remains a living sermon: a good example is the most powerful message.

Daddy, you stood with us in seasons of strength and in moments of uncertainty. We remember with gratitude how you and Mummy came all the way from the Redemption Camp—now Redemption City of God—to Lagos in 2008, immediately after a church service, just to pray and dedicate our home to the Lord. That act alone spoke volumes of your love, commitment, and shepherd’s heart.

You carried our burdens as though they were yours. In times when hope seemed dim, you lifted our concerns—especially regarding our career advancement—before God with unwavering faith, standing firmly with us until victory came.

We give all glory to Almighty God for the gift of your life, for His grace upon you, and for the privilege of having you as a blessing to us.

You were truly a man of immense capacity—spiritually grounded, deeply compassionate, and unwavering in purpose.
E Gbohun Soke, Ose Baba (as you were fondly called), there is so much to thank you for Sir… more than words can ever fully express.

We miss you deeply, Daddy. Your love, guidance, and presence remain indelible in our hearts.
Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord, Sir.

TRIBUTE TO PASTOR SOLOMON OLAJIDE ODESANYA

With gratitude to God for a life well spent, we commiserate with the entire members of the family on the exit of our beloved Pastor, who slept in the Lord.

Pastor Jide Odesanya was a true servant of God, a shepherd of souls and a vessel of uncommon grace. He lived a life marked by deep humility, unwavering commitment to prayers and genuine love for the people of God.

We thank God that he lived an exemplary life and finished well as Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7-8; “ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing”.

Once again, we commiserate with the family and pray that the Lord, in His infinite mercy, will grant strength, peace, and comfort to the entire members of the family during this period of loss. May we all find solace in the blessed hope that, through Christ, we shall one day, rejoice together again in His eternal glory in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

To the glory of God you are a great blessing in my life through the privilege of attending and part of the family of ” Prayerrain”.
I don’t think if perhaps I had met daddy face to face, however, his prayers touches all, all in attendance, to Tolu, all in the team and media of prayerrain, all the ministers, to daddy Peter Olawale and wife and to our papa and mama Adeboye as he always make his references.
I went though but strongly minded that daddy is resting and enjoying up there.
Man of humility and passion for God.
Rest on great soldier and good baba Odesanya.
